What a Friday that was!

2005-10-31

I woke up to beautiful Friday morning (October, 28, 2005) and found this unsolicited email in my Inbox on Gmail ( https://mail.google.com/links to an external resource.).

I hadn't had a coffee yet so I thought I am still having kinda weird nightmare dream so I made myself coffee and read it again. It was not a dream.

So I asked couple of my friends what they think about the situation and of course I asked Google ( http://google.comlinks to an external resource.) and Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.orglinks to an external resource.) for their opinion, too.

Then I spent a day of walking beside the Avon river and thinking what should I write as a reply to them and I've decided to write an open letter.

In case you'd be interested to read that open letter, please find its online version here: Open letter to Productivity Enhancement, Inc.

Update (2005-11-14): links to documents (email and open letter) removed.

Bug in XML-RPC!

2005-06-30

According to various sources (ie. Hardened-PHP Project forumlinks to an external resource.) there is a serious bug in XML-RPC. If you're using XML-RPC (it's in projects like Drupal, Serendipity, PEAR) it's recommended to get latest fixed version of XML-RPC implementation if exists for your project, or remove your xmlprc.php file from your project's www directory.

If you're using my http://framework.kuziel.infolinks to an external resource.project you might check what is the latest version of PEAR's XML_RPC package. As it is not used in it yet, you don't need to worry about it. However, you can easily upgrade to get lastest and fixed version of XML_RPC which is 1.3.1links to an external resource..

PhotoLog bug FIXED!

2005-05-06

Finally! I've just fixed " current" link bug which caused showing you blank screen instead of current photo.

So, it's time to write a little bit documentation, clean-up the mess in code and create PhotoLog package.

PhotoLog bug and v0.1

2005-05-03

Damn it! I found bug in PhotoLog which I am trying to fix for almost a week and now I finally think it is time for PHPUnit testing suite to take a place.

Maybe you've notice that PhotoLog's "current" link doesn't work and it looks like I am not updating my PhotoLog. But I am!

I hope I'll get this working pretty soon because it's quite annoying bug.

Please stay tuned and excuse temporary problems! Cheers!

PhotoLog v0.1 won't be release until I fix this nasty bug :-(

PhotoLog v0.1 very soon!

2005-04-26

It is always good to have three days off. Yesterday we had "ANZAC day"; remembrance day to thousands of New Zealanders who lost their lives on Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey during WWII ninety years ago.

I spent whole weekend working on PhotoLog. After three days I am able to say it's finally prepared for production.

However, it's still missing administration area and I have to upload daily image along with its thumbnail to server manually and create link for it within directory structuru manually, too. I do not care about it because as only one current user of PhotoLog I have no issues with this workflow.

CSS Style sheet switcher

2005-04-22

I needed some change after previous grey version of my website so I did this version green.

What I didn't know, was the response I got from various people. Some of them like new design (my wife for example), some of them don't (errr, most of them to be honest).

So I started work on new design. Variations of brown this time. Situation, however, repeated once again, but in opposite direction. My wife unhappy to see brown, people around say brown is good.

And that was a good reason to visit alistapart.comlinks to an external resource.and look for some simple style switcher.

For those of you interested in CSS style swithing and too lazy to find the style switcher by yourself, here's the link for alistapart article: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/alternate/links to an external resource..
