After being offline for a couple of weeks, I can safely say now, that kuziel.info is back online almost in a state as it was before.

Only not working thing at the moment is the PhotoLog. But I am hoping to get it fixed sometime soon.

The site was down because of moving to the new server, plus it took me a while to get it back online.

Hi, folks!

I am happy to announce big update of my PhotoLog .

Today I spent whole day coding and redesigning it.

What has been changed?

Completely new design of PhotoLog
Syndication via RSS 0.91
Archive of all images
Control via access keys
Bugs fixed, code refactored. Now PhotoLog works with new (XHTML) frontend.

Control via access keys means, that you can navigate through with predefined keys.

For Linux, and perhaps Windows, it is a combination of key 'Alt' with the access key.

Navigation keys for my PhotLog are:

'a' - about
's' - archive
'z' - go to previous phototgraph
'x' - go to current photograph
'c' - go to next phototgraph

Example: press 'ALT+z' to go to previous photograph.

And of course, whole serie of new photographs is available .

This entry should be an attempt to answer simple question. Why? Why this log exists and what you, my dear readers, should expect.

I write my logs, or blogs if you want, for couple of years, but with such a long breaks that it feels like starting from beginning every time.

For a year or so I tried to create a system allowing me to log my thoughts. To my surprise, I actually ended up with quite nice and even working (!!!) system, but...

...but it's always something I need to tweak, change, rewrite and what's more important it doesn't have quite a few blogging features like trackbacks, comments, etc.

After a long battle with my ego, I understood I need something I can use out-of-the-box, but still something that would allow me to play with the code and tweak the functionality to my needs.

And that's how I found Serendipity (http://s9y.org). Serendipity is a weblog system written in PHP. It has quite nice plugin architecture and what's important , installation went without any hassle.

So, what am I going to write about here? About many things! But mostly, I would like to focus myself on how you can do cool stuff with PHP and PEAR. How to do test-driven development, how to make your development easier with available tools on the net, and basically about anything related to current web technologies and that sort of geeky stuff.

And that should be enough for today I think.
